NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH IN SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY – DECODING TOMORROW

1. Conference and Participation

• The conference is open to registered undergraduate students, postgraduate students, research scholars, faculty members and other eligible academic participants.
• Registration is compulsory for all participants and presenters. Registration fees are non-refundable.
• One abstract per presenting author is permitted.
• All accepted presenters must follow the final programme schedule and presentation instructions communicated by the organizers.

2. Abstract Submission Guidelines

• Language and length: English; 250–300 words.
• Format: One concise paragraph incorporating Background/Rationale, Objective, Methods/Approach, Results or Evidence Synthesis, and Conclusion, as applicable.
• Title: Bold, 12 pt, centre-aligned, with appropriate capitalization.
• Authors: 12 pt, centre-aligned, without academic degrees/titles. The presenting author must be clearly identified and underlined.
• Affiliation: 11 pt, centre-aligned, including institutional address and corresponding author's email address.
• Abstract text and 4–6 keywords: Times New Roman, 12 pt, justified, single spacing.
• Students must submit the abstract together with a letter/recommendation from the supervisor or mentor.
• Abstracts may be returned for correction where required for scientific clarity, formatting, originality or integrity.

3. Research Review Submissions – Students Only

Only UG and PG students may submit a review-based abstract/poster when they do not have a specific original research project.

• The review must address a focused scientific question or clearly defined theme; a broad textbook-style summary is not sufficient.
• It should be based on recent and relevant scholarly literature and should demonstrate critical synthesis rather than article-by-article description.
• The abstract/poster should briefly indicate how literature was identified (for example, databases/search terms and approximate time window), summarize the major evidence, identify limitations or knowledge gaps, and end with a reasoned conclusion.
• A review should not be labelled a 'systematic review' unless a reproducible systematic methodology and appropriate reporting standards have actually been followed.
• Faculty members and research scholars are expected to submit research-based contributions rather than review-only submissions.

4. Poster Presentation Guidelines

• Poster size: 3 ft x 4 ft (portrait / vertical format).
• Collaborative / Co-authored Posters: Every participating student will receive a separate, individual Certificate of Presentation / Participation even if they work together and co-author the same poster (provided each student completes registration).
• The first author should normally present the poster and must be present during the assigned poster session and evaluation period. If another co-author will present, this should be declared during submission/acceptance.
• Recommended structure for original research: Title; Authors/Affiliations; Background; Objective; Methods; Results; Discussion/Interpretation; Conclusion; References/Acknowledgements.
• Recommended structure for permitted student research reviews: Title; Authors/Affiliations; Research Question/Objective; Literature Search/Selection Approach; Evidence Synthesis; Gaps/Limitations; Conclusion; Key References.
• Use figures, graphs, tables and diagrams where appropriate. Text, labels and legends should be readable at normal viewing distance.
• Presenters should be prepared to explain their poster concisely and respond to questions from evaluators.

5. Oral Presentation Guidelines – Faculty & Research Scholars

• Oral presentations are available to faculty members and research scholars and may be scheduled in online or offline mode.
• The final duration, platform/meeting link, room allocation and technical instructions will be communicated with the programme schedule.
• Presentations should clearly state the research problem, objective/hypothesis, methodology, principal findings, interpretation and conclusion.
• Offline presenters should carry a backup copy of the presentation in both PPTX and PDF formats where possible.
• Online presenters should join sufficiently early for audio/video and screen-sharing checks and should use a professional display name identifying the presenter and institution.

6. Awards and Evaluation

Awards will be evaluated separately in four categories:

• Evaluation will consider scientific relevance, originality, methodological rigor, quality of analysis or evidence synthesis, clarity of presentation, interpretation, and response to questions.
• For student review posters, critical appraisal, quality of literature synthesis, identification of evidence gaps and scientific understanding will be weighted appropriately.
• The decision of the designated evaluation committee will be final.

7. Registration Fees and Payment

The registration fee is charged once per participant and covers conference attendance and the eligible oral/poster presentation. No separate presentation fee is payable.

The conference is interdisciplinary and is not restricted to a closed list of topics.

10. Attendance, Identification and Conduct

• Participants should carry registration/payment confirmation and a valid institutional identity card.
• Accepted presenters should carry the acceptance communication and any required presentation file/poster.
• Students should keep a copy of the supervisor/mentor letter submitted with the abstract.
• Participants are expected to maintain professional academic conduct, respect session timings and follow instructions issued by session chairs, evaluators and organizers.
• Photography, recording or sharing of unpublished data should respect the presenter's permission and applicable institutional norms.
